Wadaiko: Celebrating the rhythmic beauty of drumming | Shien | TEDxKyoto

Translator: Masako Kigami
Reviewer: Claire Ghyselen Shien
(Drums) (Drums performance ends) (Applause) Thank you. My name is Katsumi Takagi.
I'm the leader of Shien. This music is "Tomoe",
a Japanese abstract shape. We are only three, it's not a lot. But if we focus all our strength, and if we become single-minded
in our efforts to this music, our power will be infinite. If we play in harmony with other members, we will be able to put forth
more and more infinite power. That's our wish. Next performance is "Yume idomu omoi",
feelings when challenging your dreams. Wishing that your dream
will come true is not enough. If you want to make
your dreams come true, you have to make tremendous efforts
lined with strong will. It is wonderful to keep dreaming
and pursuing it. What's going to happen if we add our will,
efforts, and trust in our music? I hope our music reflects our feelings. It's my wish and my intention. "Yume idomu omoi": for you tonight. (Applause) (Drums) (Drums performance ends) (Applause)
