I believe education is the most powerful thing in the world educators are the most powerful people of the world because they moved the minds of the society they have the puppet strings in their hands and education is the only thing which can make the world a better place to live in well we all do believe in that but believing in an idea is not enough we must inquire we must find out are we really giving that education to our students which ignites a passion in them to make the world a better place let's begin with asking us who are the people who make the world a better place world is made better only by the people who are madly in love with whatever they are doing this is the very idea that we have to inculcate in the minds of our students the most amazing experience in the world is when you are working towards a goal which truly interests you set your blood racing motivates you to do more than yesterday and that's how you change the world for better all of us know that Albert Einstein changed the history of science by his theories in the beginning of the 20th century Albert Einstein discovered the laws of physics not because he was under some pressure to submit a research paper but because uncovering the hidden principles on which nature works was the only thing he cared for in his own words I have no special talents I'm just passionately curious I love this statement from my state as beautiful as his theories as this passionate curiosity is the thing that forms the two basis of learning suppose a student comes to me and says that why should I study when I don't feel like I don't want to study why should I study so what is the answer that I will give him well I might say you have to study to survive in this world you have to study because this education will help you to earn money which is needed to survive in the world is it the right answer to a young boy well and just threatening the poor boy I'm making him insecure I'm just in other words telling him that either you study now or you are going to starve in near future no this boy will never enjoy studying he will just take it as a punishment it will be a torture for you we have to stop giving wrong motivations to Young students the aim should be to motivate them to enjoy putting their best in everything it all begins with that this is the foundation that we should give them because when you are wholeheartedly into something just for the fun of it just for the satisfaction of it you get more enthusiastic about it you get absolutely passionate about it your brain is triggered to throw more fresh ideas and that is how you set to make the world better than before we only we definitely know that many people whose Focus whose ambition was only on getting more famous getting more powerful getting more Rich they have made the world worse than before so the importance of giving right motivation to students can not be overemphasized Steve Jobs founder of Apple one of the most successful companies of the world was working his whole life Guided by the passion that he had for his work I would like to quote him here according to him there are many people out there Who start companies just to make money there are many people out there who start companies just to make money but the best companies but the great companies well that's not what they are about such a profound statement coming from the founder of a company whose turnover goes beyond 250 billion dollars we have to put this perspective in the minds of our students very early that their primary goal in life is to make the world better for them and for others and to make the world better you don't need to be a very famous man you don't need to be the CEO of a huge company even if small person working in a clerical job in a bank can make the world better if he's doing his job with a passion to do best if a baker is trying his hard he's trying his best to bake the best possible bed for his customers he's making the world better for them we have to redefine the words making the world better there are so many people around who are making the world better in their own humble way it's just that very few of them get famous on the way Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has once said Facebook was not originally created to be a company it was built for a social mission to make the world more open and to make it more connected these were my thoughts that motivated me to find my real passion in life that is teaching and guiding students and giving them a meaningful education I was really fortunate to identify my true passion in life it is the most fortunate thing for a person to identify his ultimate passion something which I would never give up something which will be beyond all other emotions something that would be the central theme in my life story after having done my bachelor's from IIT Delhi I could have landed up anywhere I wanted to but I decided to follow my heart and Chase my passion as teaching is what breathes air into my life and with the sheer goal of making a significant difference in the lives of each and every student I come across I started this rewarding and fulfilling Journey at the at that time way back in 1986 teaching or coaching was not a lucrative business someone graduating from such a prestigious College like IIT and going into teaching was totally unheard of Muslim people were shocked to know about it from one classroom in Punjabi bag with mere 11 students to an enrollment of two lakh students over the past three decades it has been overwhelming to see the results of pursuing my passion many times people ask even ex-students who passed out 20 years back 25 years back they come and ask don't you get bored teaching the same things again and again how do you get the passion after all so many 35 years well the answer is very simple when you can live with your same family whole your life why can't I live by with my students family which is renewed every year so I have thousands of students in my family so why can't I live with them when we enter the class see into the eyes of the students so curious expecting so much in that very moment it is as if we are reborn it is as if we are fresh again as if we are teaching for the first time and you don't need to put any efforts to generate passion automatically passion comes to you the only thing you need the only thing that you need is to be sensitive towards the presence of students all those years the emphasis has been on making learning enjoyable to each and every student because it is a joy of learning only which can bring out their two potential once they taste This Joy that comes out of passionately doing something they are going to look for it in everything that they do in later life I really hope I made the world better for them thank you
