here in front of with so many other amazing performers we have a historian a linguistic anthropologists scientific researchers among so many other amazing people and then there's me an aspiring stand-up comedian yeah I haven't accomplished anything like the rest of these folks no no no I'm aspiring to one day have my parents go this is why you went to OSU I'll tell you how I got here I am half Japanese my Asian father graduated from Community College and my white mother graduated from Harvard which seems a little backwards but is the perfect combination for amateur comedian with a finance degree I am technically half Asian my dad's 100% Japanese my mom's 100% white the reason I used to work technically is because I have a sister and instead of us both being like half-and-half like we're supposed to it's kind of like a one of each race per kid type deal like it's obvious that my sister got all the Asian genes you know she was a valedictorian in high school top of her class in college now she's in med school me aspiring stand-up comedian yeah I think it's safe to say that I'm my parents what they call the golden child yeah I don't know though I am I am half asian but I do like to identify more as racially confused because I look like this but I love Owl City and they'll get me wrong I do like being Asian but there are some stereotypes out there that I really wish weren't true but unfortunately are like I don't know maybe you guys have heard of this one there's one out there that we get drunk faster than people we kind of black out more easily than others me I found this one out the hard way at my first communion I know what you guys don't think like oh this kid can't handles alcohol in my defense all I had to eat that day was the body of Christ you guys can back off and I'm not really a political comedian either but there's one thing I think everyone should agree on like no matter what side you're on no matter what you believe in cause green this one thing and that is if you're going to fly a Confederate flag in the back your car you probably shouldn't be driving a Lincoln this side of the room you guys did great on that one you guys need to take fourth-grade history again that is it's getting recently though my girlfriend of two years broke up with me which yeah I don't have a joke here I'm looking for a rebound if anyone is interested in that people like oh my gosh Cal you're doing tedx ohio state university what are you gonna talk about him like I'm just looking for a girlfriend to be honest now she's cool she's she studies psychology which is great because she'll learn stuff in her class and then applied those concepts to my personal life right like one time she was like Cal I figured it out you like doing stand-up because you weren't given enough attention between the ages of seven and ten I'm like wrong I like doing stand-up because I wasn't giving enough attention how about right now you know also wouldn't that be rude if I did that to her with my class concepts right like I'm a finance student I can't she be like hey babe remember when you spent $200 at the mall yesterday yeah that was fiscally irresponsible yeah I'm gonna be totally honest with you the shareholders won't be happy there's how bad it got though guys true story one time I hurt my leg of the gym I hung out with her a few hours later I didn't say anything about my injury but she goes Cal I can tell you're in pain because of what I learned in my class I'm like that's interesting they taught you what a limp looks like no no this is no joke that's what she told me she goes Cal I know you're in pain because I learned when the human body is in physical pain the human emotion becomes softer quieter and boring she did tell me that did you guys know that though when you're in physical pain you become boring yeah like I had no idea she was always in pain now hear me out here I don't want to I don't want to bag on her too much cuz she's a great girl I know she's gonna do great in psychology she's gonna be very successful in psychology because when we started dating she's at Cal I'm never gonna cheat on you and two years later she was like psych you guys can feel bad that's a great joke let's be let's be honest I know what you guys are wondering like callous you get out of here obviously your comedy careers taking off because we hadn't heard of you until four minutes ago but no I'm worried you know I'm have to move to Hollywood you know but there's not gonna be enough roles for someone who looks like me you know like what are they gonna give me agent gangster number seven in the next rush hour movie right or if I get lucky if the gay couple from Modern Family adopts another daughter you guys make
