hi I love the wonderful and kind Dalai Lama and I'm sure you love him too his thoughts and words inspire me it really does he was once asked what surprised him the most about humanity and his answer left me thinking he said it was man man wait what did he just say man was the most surprising thing about humanity I always thought humanity meant man but the lie Lama explains that man sacrifices his health in order to make money and then he sacrifices his money to gain back his health he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present the result being he does not live in the present or the future he lives as if he's never going to die and then he dies having never really lived my name is advocate Iyer and I'm here to speak about humanity ever had a great idea that you knew in your heart and soul was supercalifragilistic expialidocious in other words fabulous tell me what was the first thing that happened to it let me guess did it get rejected I believe as a 10 year old when I see the world through my eye humanity is being rejected my idea is to bring it back right where it belongs in the hearts of us humans let me share a small story with you one day a saint went to the river to bathe he saw a scorpion struggling in the water now as you all know scorpions cannot swim and the Saint knew that if he did not help the scorpion it would drown and die so the saint carefully picked up the scorpion and just as he was about to set it on land the scorpion stung him because of the pain the same to let go of the Scorpion and the Scorpion went flying back inside the water but the Saint did not give up he still tried to help the scorpion but the scorpion again stung him when the Saint tried to help the scorpion stung him this happened for a long time but finally the saint succeeded a devotee was watching this whole event he went to the saint and asked him the scorpion kept on attacking you but why did you still help it why the Saint told him my dear child the scorpion do not stink me out of evil intent just as it is the fire's nature to burn and the waters nature to make things wet it is thus called his nature to stink and the human nature to help this is humanity the big question is do we humans lack a sense of humanity today who well I won't say we lack it but certainly the world today is a fine example of how we are losing it in simple words if you see a person in need you help that's humanity if you see a person hungry you feed them that's humanity if you see a person in distress you comfort them that's humanity what makes the human race so beautiful its humanity for the next two minutes walked in my shoes and see through my ten-year-old eyes what humanity means to me now may I please request you to sit straight because 10 year olds don't slouch now look at the people sitting around you give them a big wide smile and say hello you have 10 seconds to do this starting now if you notice there suddenly a lot of warmth in this room we were spreading smiles and spreading smiles is humanity in terms of technology we're advancing at a great speed somehow we're disconnected in a connected world we've touched moon but neighbors are unknown lots of human less humanity whales are being raised we're fighting over religion shootings are at large wars are being planned people are being pushed away we are getting more and more selfish all of this does nothing but kills humanity and the biggest act against humanity is not caring about nature for selfish reasons we are burning forests cutting down trees increasing the rate of carbon dioxide we are destroying our own future what's the use of all this education money and luxury that you are earning for us if the future itself is not safe for us Humanity is at stake don't let the world's most beautiful idea go in vain preserve it if not for you then for us and for the future generations to come let me share the stories of two heroes that will make you fall in love with humanity it will prove to you that no matter what happens around there's always a place for kindness compassion and joy I met this wonderful hero at an event her name is Gauri seventh she is a transgender she is not a woman but became a mother she adopted an orphaned child and raised her she gave her a happy childhood with love and care if this isn't humanity tell me what is the second hero is uncle Kawara when I met him I asked him why do people call you a hunger hero are you hungry all the time he laughed and said tell me a tweeker do you hate to see food being thrown in trash do you see hungry homeless kids on the streets I said yes he told me that he is doing his bit to prevent food wastage and feed those who are hungry Wow he is a true hero a humanity hero like Charlie Chaplin said you are human you have the love of humanity in your hearts you don't hate you the people have the power the power to create happiness you the people have the power to make this life free and beautiful to make this life a wonderful adventure so let me ask you something have you found joy in your life but most importantly has your life brought joy to others let's spread humanity by bringing joy to others let's treat everyone as equals with respect no matter what caste creed color or religion let's be kind to others let's be compassionate towards animals let's spread smiles let's be thankful for what we have let's stop climate change let's save our habitat remember our dear planet Earth is all we have let there always be happiness harmony and world peace let's make a difference let's be human thank you
