The art of story telling in sand | Rahul Arya | TEDxCRCE
[Music] we all know that from the childhood days when we were young and used to draw caricatures of the sketches in the school colleges schools and used to draw the greeting cards and I used to get appreciated a lot for that days but I was never a very good student though I was a below average student in my maths or science and other studies so I failed into a couple of subjects during my faith and Metin standards so since I was not good into education so a lot of people thought ki he's at least good in arts so I went to engineering so that doesn't matter whatever you are good at you anyways have to do engineering or a talk tree so otherwise no other qualification is respected even now people say even my family you know they appreciate that oh my gosh rahula is an engineer because it's much more respected come on it's much more respected than an artist if you say oh your child is a painter is the artist how does he earn his living from so that was the case with me so it started off from that the childhood passion and then I swiftly started up for taking up this into a much more bigger level I started to bring out on the glass and throwing up but I was not getting that what is the trick how we can make it in a matter of telling the story as well it's not just a painting because I believe myself as an storyteller more than an artist so I started up in 2007 to build up my own setup and all so a lot of hits and bits I started up making a light box I started putting up tube lies I started doing up whatever the garbage we have so I started making up my own light box with the cardboard with the wooden board and what are the small budgets which we are which I can arrange so this is the this is a point where I would like to mention that I have utilized whatever the presence I had at that time a moment of time so when they've shared me that the theme is about presence of the presence so I believe that influenced me a lot because at that moment I was not looking at he what are the biggest things I can have if I have so much of money I would have done that but I have tried to utilize what are the smallest of the things I have that I believe the meaning of presence of the present one day I got an idea and I share it with my colleague in IIT and I started making up the film the film name was hand versus sand so I'll just quickly tell you what the idea is so basically stop-motion most of you are aware oh but still I'll just make sure so in end off motion you have to draw each frame one by one okay so it's a very complicated process so for one second of our animation if a person is walking then there are 12 frames similarly you can have 12 or 24 frames for that particular animation so it's a very long process so I have spent roughly six months analyzing and making that stop-motion film all my own at that too using sand animation because that's the one thing I know so that I felt like let's do one thing that I know very well so I started up making that film I passed out from IIT and my film has got double A grades it has successfully passed out and this is the film which I made [Music] now let me tell you though [Music] [Music] [Music] I love telling stories I enjoy sign art so I thought of bringing sand art and art with the storytelling together and bring up something nice to the society French philosopher Romain Rolland once said if there is one place on the face of this earth where all the dreams of living men have found a home from the very earliest days when man began the dream of existence it is India so let us sit back and enjoy the land of unity in diversity incredible India in an amazing sand art by Rahul Arya [Music] [Music] [Music] see [Music] [Music] Albertina do manga nobody touch anything [Music] - I'm gonna be what to be who could've put in a Chicago buddy dog [Music] [Music] btob [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] read your days [Music] yeah [Music] [Music] let us all unite to embrace our motherland India Incredible India [Music] thank you so much everybody for bearing with me thank you so much [Music]
