Reviewer: Trâm Bùi Do you think that everyone
deserves education? Yes, I highly think that everyone
deserves education. It doesn't matter whether
you're privileged or not. Education is the key to success. Wisdom and opportunities in this world. We all come from different backgrounds. I want you to imagine the life of Tom, a 15 year old boy who wakes up
in a house where food is limited because his parents barely have enough
money to afford food for him and his siblings. Tom occasionally goes to school without eating breakfast
only supplies he carries is only one book and two pens, which he packs in a red
paper bag for all the subjects he does. Since he can't really
afford an actual schoolbag, Tom knows he has the ability and the opportunity to get himself out
of this challenging lifestyle. But it's only through education. So Tom works hard in school, receiving grades acceptable
to his parents and himself, and eventually he graduates
from high school. Then, after he gets accepted
into a prestigious university, despite his background. Now I want you to imagine
the life of Jamie. Jamie is very privileged than Tom. He's born into a family
where he's privileged. Obviously, Jamie even has the opportunity
to be taken to school with his own personal driver. Unlike Tom, who has to walk a long
distance in order for him to arrive at his school. Even
though Jamie's privileged, he takes his education seriously. Therefore, this is to Jamie
also graduating from university, and he even gets accepted into the same
prestigious university as Tom. As I was thinking about privileged and privileged children
in the education system, I realized that two worlds
can come together one day if only one can take advantage
of the opportunity they have. Before I joined the fourth grade,
I visited my grandparents. I remember my father
and mother enrolling my sister and I into school in the village, which was located
in Migori County in rural Kenya. At first I did not want
to go to this school. Honestly, I thought
it was a waste of time. But during the moments I spent there, all I remember seeing were the children who were engaging
themselves with my sister and I, wanting to know what's better,
and also us reciprocating the same energy. Now, as I got older, I realized
that my parents wanted my sister and I to see a different
side of the education system and for me to also take advantage
of the opportunity I have. Well, I'm not here to shame the privileged
or the underprivileged. I'm here to recognize
the success for such people because even though they are from
different backgrounds, the roles and became somewhat big. Who has impacted society
in countless of ways. Kindly remember that people
from different backgrounds can come together one day eventually, and education is the only way
for someone to be successful. This is the connection
between the privileged and the underprivileged. Thank you.
