[Music] and hello everyone let me start with a brief introduction my name is karishma chabria and i call myself the jack of all trades and i like to believe the master of some why i call myself that you will know it by the end of my speech so you all must have heard of the quote that when life gives you lemon make lemonade well i took the coat a little too seriously i just didn't make lemonade i made a lemonade store that too with different flavors because my life has been a series of lemons thrown by the man or the woman above at the most unexpected times so let me take you through 10 minutes of my 38 years of my very interesting life i have always felt i have a lot of potential how many of us here feel that way can i have some hands up in the audience i have also always felt i can do anything i put my mind to how many of us here feel that determined enough lovely i have also realized long back that the world is an ocean of opportunities and it's all up for grabs if you are willing to go and get it how many of us here are ambitious enough now for the classic interview question can you see what your life will look like five years from now if you cannot welcome to my world i have never been able to envision what my life will look like because very early on in life i realized that if you want to make god laugh tell him your plans all that has ever really mattered to me is the here and now because that my dear friends is the only reality so to begin with i grew up in a middle class family in mumbai with some amount of family issues through which my mom remained my strength and my backbone and well my dad was another story the only time i felt appreciated by him was when i performed as a result of which i got used to performing in all areas of my life and that's when i realized that if i have to gain affection and love from him i must continue and be in the state of ingenious continuum see there is a flip side to everything i who did very well in college moved on to doing my graduation in commerce even though what i really wanted to do was arts and major in psychology or literature but back then arts was a stream for the less intelligent ones how the mighty were mistaken i then moved on to doing most of the extracurricular activities in college i was a part of fashion shows a lot of talk shows events and i was in a rush to finish my graduation and start flying as a cabin crew all i wanted to do was wear that crisp uniform look glamorous and travel the world so destiny was very kind to me it gave me exactly what i asked for i cleared a leading airline interview in the very first attempt and started flying within six months of my graduation but as we have it by the end of the first year of traveling and flying i realized this is not what i want to do for the rest of my life so here i was a 21 year old with a dream crushed no plan or way forward and constantly waiting for something to happen that's when life through its first lemonade me an opportunity to train aviation aspirants so here there was me with no idea if i could be a good public speaker or if i could train people anyway i took it up gathered whatever experience and knowledge i had and met the love of my life no not my husband training and that's how i started my training journey moved on from aviation and hospitality and moved into becoming voice and accent soft skills and behavioral trainer all throughout my training career i trained mbas lawyers doctors cas and many many more professionals throughout the journey there was never a point where i felt like i have arrived you remember that potential part i continued to feel i could do more glamour always attracted me and that's when i started picking up modeling acting assignments alongside my full-time job and then life happened again i got married at the age of 24 yes that early i still wonder how it all transpired i also happen to have a baby at 25 my son is now 13 years old so with domestic responsibilities so early on in life i decided to quit my full-time job and started my own training company this too was pretty much born overnight so my son and my training firm continued to grow at an organic base and i started doing programs across india asia europe and treated a lot of people in counseling a lot of career education that went along the way along the way i also realized that if i have to be self-employed i have to make sure i grow in my knowledge too so i kept upskilling myself in various advanced programs because when you're self-employed you must remember you must continue to grow in your knowledge so you don't get outdated with time i moved into becoming a psychometric analyst became a behavioral coach and did a lot of assessment centers across the globe my mantra in life has always been never say no to an opportunity take it up and see what you can do with it along the way i also invented another quote it said i remember writing it a couple of years back that when life does not give you lemons look harder they may be hidden in the refrigerator because not always will you have things on a platter sometimes you may just have to look harder my inner glamour girl was never satisfied with the amount of work i had done i still felt i could do more so on an absolute whim i started looking for mrs india pageant my age marital status labels like mom wife daughter-in-law did not stop me from believing in me all these labels were nothing but just another feather in the hat of life for me and on an audition i got through the audition worked on my fitness levels lost close to 10 kgs of weight and then landed as a finalist all my hard work paid off and i won mrs india 2017 in the top three finalists i also got an opportunity another lemon to represent india internationally amongst 50 countries where i reached the top 15 finalists all throughout when i was on that stage i could only think of the fact that i want to go back and start coaching women who aspire for pageants and be that one source of light who could give them the right kind of information because there are just so many people who come to mislead you and that's how my pageant coaching academy came into existence in 2018 it's truly said things happen twice once in your mind and once for real that's how important it is to think right the pandemic came as another opportunity and i got more opportunities to work with various organizations and international platforms and pageants and individuals and right from the comfort of my home in the process i also got rewarded and recognized for the work i had done in the pageant in the corporate industry and won women's achiever award for three consecutive years so that's been my journey i still continue to train in the corporates i am still a pageant coach along with that i am also an actor an international public speaker a model a mother a wife a courts writer a blogger and a community influencer jack of all trades and i would like to believe the master of some so to sum it up for all of you do not stop at doing one thing make sure you explore your potential to the ultimate mode keep your feet on the ground fly high keep hustling stay humble because remember the journey of a thousand miles begins with one single step thank you so much for listening to me thank you very much [Music] you
