The Da Vinci Sound | Sawomir Zubrzycki | TEDxEmbassySchoolKrakow

it's called modern technology great education everything possible but there are still white spots that not everything everything is described and I'm going to tell the story my own story to show that there are some very interesting area where we can find and discover things and these are area law in the past ten years ago I was informed about a nice tuna which was built in Poland the 19th century I said okay what what is this is a kind of grand gala can see Christianity as a baby drama so what was strange but that grand piano could sound like streaks that a string instrument like since were little you know I'm a pianist so we always are practicing our the pieces of the camera and searching how to make the sound of the piano which disappear very quickly after strike how to make make it more seen more like a folk guitar music playing polka music on piano this very difficult and we spend a lot of hours to to do such an effect I said if I give the sun-god love strings which are very long I can press the key and then I can get beautiful long long long time and something so Spanish research was the inventor of the melody : 19th century doll there was and very quickly the name [Music] [Music] we know that America was a great planet he painted beautiful portraits or you get one in Krakow very proud that he was painting the Last Supper meal on a fresco he was an engineer we described many equipment or engineering work he was a researcher scientist was researching many fields of science like mathematics biology physical so it was a very great man and I think that he tried to understand his world the world which surrounds him so there is good to full of certain genes and maybe not men of you know there are him as a musician he played your attraction is a straightener like today do you play instruments okay he found one day enough okay so I said music what kind of music I'm talking of if he didn't write down with music just call it here notes were written by a Hispanic but anyway he was observing that time and development of music what happened polka music at that time people tried to put on instruments to play the instrument so he said music music was in the time of remember that morning is that you have many choices son today and he tried maybe to play one voice as possible second as more difficult but when you want to play four or five forces we need four or five pieces he said ok probably as possible to mix in between keyboards instrument and sleeps this man and put it together to make a Eastman which might be perfect you know because you can get a sound very long time order but instrument three could be not very big and you for me and you can modify some to start more quiet and so another subjects he wanted to get any perfectly student and okay so I was trying to look me to come play some instrument because if not the da Vinci invented something we know playing we know how faster we don't register of his energy but there's our surprise Joseph I was also looking into eternal maybe some researchers were interested that one who states from Japan even and I got a nice paper of that guy from London hero of death during five centuries [Music] suddenly 200 people we know how many millions of instrument was built this is the time so 200 it said it's nothing but 2,000 this very big number to forget at all is it possible that nobody will always know so I said [Laughter] [Music] [Laughter] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Laughter] [Music] [Laughter] you can see the novice drawings are these plans are these so-called blue twins no these are just stitches just he tried to do to shut the idea these are not exactly plans for building instruments so I said oh it's quite difficult but you know we polish me like very difficult challenge so we sometimes follow such difficult difficult paths so I started to search get where I try to see any historical incident as I went to preserve to be able to see them to play on the instrument of seventeen sixteenth century so together with the taste of the instrument then I have started to think how to make it and what kind of music would be playing on this separately music for keyboards and music for stringed instrument so what could be the music if that instrument was successful in the past we don't know but maybe there are some pieces I found one piece one is originally written for seven is really 18th century some of you know Sebastian Bach country another bar so I it's not that okay so what to do I had to organize my workshop in my basement about my house I found three nice rooms they were required nobody could enter that area and I started to work every day for hours in order to make it and when I was almost close to the finish I said okay like that is true I know that something really really very well in the world but how can I share what can I do I'm just a longing my buddy more showed me in the basement of my house and not fast because Europeans I made it so I just fell and there was a first I met a diabetic of the festival to play his best of all clever okay then the Jew nice day I also privately about my project and he was looking very because only then next day they wanted to see can came to my house and I played for him a little he said oh Jesus I have to I have to small and when the god the smaller the great house okay so and so then I that I was approaching to my first breast cancer [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] okay so that that was a turning point in my private that private project I got a very wide information because last month presently his neighbor's most they've got that concept so hey I got many mails letters from different people from all over the world and what is the result after that moment which was five years ago I play I play make 33 year-old Francis and I can show my instrument to people people always come to me after the concert we want to know they want to listen to how can I play the instrument so I think that I was lucky so next video please [Music] who's been responsible for a recent surge of interest in this long-forgotten instrument well I'd like to say first try to understand and think about that and people may be good also to into the past to find good inspiration from people who also were young who also were full of passion and they were also very talented and they were of genes many times so this is good to think and understand first what is this about and what you want to tell making your own culture not only technology of power time but that there was a technology of time no matter that means late medical and yeah and then one more thing I'd like to ask because that was taught here today was the age yeah mostly young people but when I was playing my first recital that was the day in my 15th birthday so it's always remember this is never too late for your passion for your
