we family band Rajshri me yo what up TEDx Portsmouth we are Rock Street and we are a family band yeah but we weren't always a family band we weren't always a family our identities used to be very different yeah like I used to stay up till 4:00 a.m. rocking the party then these guys showed up and there we were waking up at 4 a.m. to rock the baby I used to spit dope flows now I find myself singing sweet lullabies yeah I had always been a writer but for a few years there I was lucky if I had enough time to write a grocery list in 2010 we moved from Brooklyn New York to Portsmouth to be closer to family that made it a lot easier to give our identities some room to grow sure but with two kids under two it still wasn't easy diapers naptime's meals snacks you get the picture but then something happened that took me for one completely by surprise we grew up well they did get bigger a lot bigger they could tie their own shoes brush their own teeth even fold their own laundry sorta a couple years ago we hit a sweet spot life got a lot more fun the only question is what are we gonna do with all this extra space in our lives we knew we couldn't go back to where we were before we had kids why would you want to but you know what does sound great you know they say you can't go home again but you can create again you cannot get it all back but you can bring it all back with a little bit of what you used to have and a whole lot of what you've been given in return DJ drop that beat yeah you feeling funky tedx you want a little song how about we give it to them huh kids yo yo introducing rock stream with a hot feet give you hot feet like the summertime concrete precise with the rhymes have a sloppy and we got the music make your body wobbly hit you with that boss making art everywhere like a [Music] Rock Street baby yeah we singing pizza [Music] Rock Street baby I see you getting crazy singing [Music] [Music] ruby slippers show them how it's done I've read so many books I'm kind of like library but when I go to mush you you me climbing trees I place too many sports you couldn't have me I'm like your child be soaking up the oxygen and showing love people be like yo how could we not be friends I'm me we're rock street equals in the summer maja is the rocket two lives were slow-mo when I'm on the mountain and it's the powder that up rocks we baby yeah we get crazy singing dancing yeah we amazing Rock Street baby we see you getting crazy singing dancing yeah you're amazing Rock Street can I kick in oh yes you can it's folklore from Brooklyn streets where I would throw the heat crashing mansions fans stand-in to their feet when life's the man do we handle - then we press repeat now I got a family band they dance and fancy-free a brand beef with my my gift over I spit up first I'm like the Pied Piper moving kids it hurts I'm hit nerves like a surgeon without a single curse my mind's finding the rhymes that I on the finest words now we're up in launch lid we lifted all the heavy loads like a forklift cast spells like the sorceress sorceress and rock the house like a granite fortress [Music] thank you we wanna thank you thank you ten exports anthrax treat Thank You 10 anemia no the stab of TEDx all these wonderful speakers we love you what an amazing community rock scene thank you that's hot jackhammer ruby slippers I'm Pablo we out [Music] [Applause] [Music]
